Village, Week 23: Petronia Speaks Out!

A family of Peeps at their campsite - getting ready to arise and head off to another day of work on the Villa.
Senator Qunitus Furvus Gallio, Petronia and the children lolling about, awaiting the completion of their home.

The Senator and his family continue to reside with a nearby cousin while awaiting the completion of their home and estate. While the cousin is certainly accommodating and pleasant enough, the Senator, Petronia and the children are growing impatient and restless - eager to move into their own home. The local Peep Tradesmen, still with no homes of their own, work hard each day - but the Villa is such a HUGE project that they begin to wonder if they'll EVER complete it! Local Building Inspectors have inspected and passed three of the four buildings, allowing those teams to move on to painting and interior design, but the Villa Urbana - home to the family - remains under construction, still lacking its upper story and overall roof. Team Urbana has called out for additional builders and is doing all that they can to finish this magnificent building - and indeed, they are getting close!

Petronia has called for the local artisans to submit proposals for the interior accessories that will make her new house the beautiful home she wishes it to be....and she is SO particular! Each day Petronia meets with artisans and craftspeople to review special project proposals and to commission works for the Villa; Weavers are weaving, potters are crafting fine tableware, gardeners are designing fine rose gardens, tile workers are laying mosaic floors, and Artists are preparing to paint a family portrait of the Senator and his family - it's all getting done and Petronia is quite pleased! There's even talk of a Market and Feast Day to celebrate all the completion of the Villa and the official arrival of Senator Quintus Furvus Gallio, Petronia, their offspring and household. The Tradesmen are looking forward to a well deserved day of rest harbor a faint hope that they will be paid for their hard work and released to start on their own homes!

Meanwhile, life in the village is thriving! New Peeps arrive each day, some from far flung parts of the Republic, others born into the hustle and bustle of this growing village. Small businesses are beginning to appear and the Trading Post is doing a booming business!

A Building Inspector double checking the building requirements, making sure that all is done correctly and approved to move onto painting and interior design. Serious business!

Team Fructuaria has passed it's construction inspection and is now ready to move onto painting and interior design!
