The order of the day was getting every little thing in order for the long trek to the Rubicon Valley. Villagers put finishing touches on carts and horses, boats and gear.
We were reminded that people of ancient times had far less "stuff" than we currently think of as "necessary", and far less room to keep it in. After careful consideration, Villagers selected the 5 most important things they would pack for their Peeps, including personal belongings, sacred objects the tools of their trades. It was a difficult choice, but one which was made with good spirits and stoic resolve. Villagers noted that some of them were on the same travel routes and so made plans to caravan and consolidate resources. At long last, in the final minutes of a very busy day, all Peeps, their transportation and personal effects were staged around our map of the ancient world and, with just a little fanfare, they all "set off" on their long and uncertain journey.
If all goes well Peeps will begin arriving at the new village site in a few Peeps weeks, for some the journey could take months - and that's if no adventures arise! Anything could happen; treacherous weather, vehicle breakdowns or bandits! Well, we wish them all Good Speed and Safe Travels, and look forward to the next phase of Village; the arrival of the Peeps in the Rubicon Valley and designing a magnificent Villa for Senator Quintus Furvus Gallio and the building of a new village. All to the Greater Glory of Rome!
Oh! There were also some long awaited Job Interviews for the Villager positions of Town Crier and Trading Post Manger - all in preparations for the impending start up of the Village Economy.
Are we there yet????
